So, after a few weeks of relatively calm tectonic activity, I was thinking about the fact that we haven’t had any decent sized earthquakes in a while. Well, I must have cursed us, because today we got a nice big M5.6 pretty near here. Nothing was damaged, and the only thing that fell in my apartment was a bottle I have in the kitchen. Nothing broke thought. I did have to grab the TV to make sure it didn’t fall.
I really wasn’t thinking about the earthquake when I started this post. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have added a couple new albums to my gallery. Nothing new though. They’re mostly just photos from immediately after the earthquake, and photos from my first few months here.
Anyhow, enjoy =)
Hello,
Just a quick update on my webpage. You may not be interested, but in case you are, I’m making some changes to the site.
There once was a link called Photos. It’s gone now, along with all the photos that were there.
In its’ place is a page called Gallery. This is where the new photos can be found. I haven’t uploaded all my photos yet, but I’m doing my best to get them in there.
Having said all that. Any new photos that are taken will be uploaded to this site pretty much exclusively. I won’t be posting any new albums on Facebook (although I may still upload some mobile photos). I may or may not add new photos to Google Plus. I haven’t really decided what I’m going to do with the whole social network thing. I guess I’m just too much of a control freak, and I don’t like the idea that FB and Google can sell my photos and info at will.
Anyhow, enjoy the updates.
Its been a few months. Things are going well.
A lot has happened since the last time I posted, but I think I’ll get to the most pertinent news first:
Im coming back for a long overdue, yet too short visit. I’ll be flying into Tulsa on October 23, and I’ll be staying for one week. Id love to stay longer, but considering my available vacation, I just couldn’t pull it off.
I’ve been able to talk to many of you on the phone, so you’ve already heard most of the news, but for those who haven’t, here’s a brief summary.
I moved again. This will probably be my last move in Koriyama. The other apartment I had moved into was just too loud, and I could never get any sleep. This place is much quieter, although a bit smaller.
I only got to spend one day at the lake this summer. I wish I could have gone more, but the weather just didn’t permit it.
I bought a new computer. The old college lappy just didn’t cut it anymore. It was definitely time. I decided on a Japanese Sony Vaio. I love it. It’s pretty amazing. However, trying to change the system language in Windows is almost as painful as getting all your teeth pulled (believe me, I know).
I recently took a trip to Disney Tokyo. It was pretty awesome. I wish they had more roller coasters though. Pictures will be coming later.
We moved to a new office. Is is a very nice office, and since moving, we’ve gotten so many new students. My work schedule has gotten pretty busy because of it.
Speaking of pictures, I just want to let you know that I’ll be making some changes to my website. Currently I’m using an add on to import photos from my Facebook account, but do to some of the recent changes on Facebook, I plan on getting rid of most of the info on the site, photos included. I’ll be hosting my own photo albums now, so I’m currently experimenting with addons and designs. I won’t delete anything from Facebook that I haven’t already backed up, so if there are any photos you want, you can copy them from FB, or you can ask me for the full size images.
To fill my social networking void, I’m currently using Google Plus. You can look me up with my name or email addy if you have a G+ account, or I can invite you if you want one.
That’s it for now. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.
Just wanted to let everyone know that my Tulsa area phone number is now calling through to me rather than just going to voicemail. The catch is that I have to be on my computer to get the call.
So, if you have the old number, feel free to call me, but as I said, if I’m not on my computer, it will just go to voicemail.
If you don’t have the old number, let me know, and I’ll be happy to send it to you (I just don’t want to put it on here for the whole world to see).
You can also send emails as always to reach me.
As a side note, I changed to layout of my webpage to include my shared articles from Google Reader. I’ll be updating this mostly with things I’m interested in, but also with news about the situation here.
