The Life of Oggy

The Holidays are Upon Us

On top of working, trying to continue to build business, all of our daily trials, and attempting to have some sort of social life, we’re all now posed with the question “What’s going on for the holidays?”

The winter holidays are supposed to be some of the most wonderful and peaceful times in the year but generally turn out the most hectic. News ads remind you that you only have a little bit of time to get the best gifts. You only have one hour at 3am standing in the freezing cold to even have a possibility to get one of 10 super deals that Best Buy or any other retailer has when you should be laying in bed after a restful night of fun.

Why do we continue to live this lifestyle? Why do you go crazy trying to find the next big deal rather than to stop and appreciate the people for whom you’re looking for these deals. I want everyone to know, that while I am getting everyone gifts, they will be small and well thought out, and at least a bit practical. I don’t want any crazy large gifts.

I really just want to spend this holiday season with all my friends and family.

It’s been a while

Well, it’s been a while since I wrote about anything, so I figured that I’d sum everything up.

I’m still working at State Service Center being a Brand Coordinator for Matrix hair products. It is an interesting position to say the very least.

Since I started here, life has been very slow. There really hasn’t been anything new come up. I did buy the game Spore when it came out (Big Disappointment). I have followed the development of this game for about seven years. The idea is that you start out as a single celled organism and move through billions of years playing different evolutionary levels of life and the whole time you develop a larger, smarter brain. It’s a neat idea, and it started out alright. My biggest problem with the game was that you travel through billions of years in the matter of about 4 hours. I love the concept of the game. There was just not enough buildup to the “Space Stage.”

Other than working, playing games, and trying to spend time with those close to me, nothing has been happening.

I did get very sick though for about a week. I had strep, a massive sinus infection in all my sinus cavities, and two ear infections… it was not very fun.

I suppose that’s about it for now.

Working Now

Good morning everyone,

Well, I have a job. I am currently employed at State Service Systems. They are the sole distributors for State Beauty Supplies stores. I am the Brand Coordinator for the Matrix line of hair products (www.matrix.com).

So far, the job has been very interesting. I am learning about an entirely new industry. There is absolutely no computer repair or maintenance work in this job (don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that’s good or bad, just different).

This last weekend we had a sales meeting, so I lost my weekend, but I think I’m going to make up for it by going out of town this weekend.

Take care,

Oggy

PS – I am still doing computer repair on the side. If you need some work done or know someone who may need some computer work, please go to www.ogden-computers.com

Weekend Road Trip

I suppose I just can’t sit still.

This weekend I took a road trip. Carlsbad Caverns is beautiful. I absolutely love it there (definitely couldn’t live there though). We did some swimming in the river there and did a couple of “off-trail” caving trips. It was a blast (pictures will come as soon as I can get them from all the people who had cameras).

So, I am still on the job hunt. I finally decided to post my resume online so that friends and family can direct someone who may be looking for me, so here it is.

Finally in Tulsa

Hey everyone,

I’ve finally made it back to Tulsa. After the funeral, I decided to take an extra couple weeks to go visit some friends. Now, I’m back, so for all those who are expecting me to call you and let you know how everything is, or who were waiting to call me, feel free now.

So, here’s the news. I’m back in Tulsa, unemployed, and quickly depleting my traveling account. I’m currently searching for a job so that I can support my crazy lifestyle and perhaps fund my next overseas adventure.

If you have any specific questions about my trip, then feel free to shoot me an email or ask in the comments section. If you are planning your own backpacking trip, then I have lots of advice I can give about what you need/don’t need, ways to get around, etc.

I’m happy to be able to relax in a comfy bed =)
